Equestrian Riding & Learning - 2026 - London, On
The application period for Soldier On members wishing to participate in the Soldier On Equestrian Riding and Learning in London, Ontario - 16-18 September 2026 is now open.
The application deadline is 24 August 2026.
AIM AND SCOPE OF EVENT:
Soldier On in collaboration with Twisted Willow equestrian will host an equestrian camp in London Ontario from 16-18 September, 2026. Participants will have the opportunity to take part in stable management, including grooming and feeding, as well as ground training, and riding taking place over three consecutive full days.
The number of Soldier On participants is limited to
10.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Any serving member or veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF)
from the local London and surrounding area who acquired a permanent physical or mental health illness or injury while enrolled as a member of the CAF; whether attributable or not to service.
Selected
Serving members will require the approval of their Chain of Command to participate.
DRAFT SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
Wednesday 16 Thursday 17 and Friday 18 September 2026
09:00 AM - Arrival and equestrian activities;
12:00 PM - Lunch;
1:00 PM - Afternoon equestrian activities; and
3:00 PM - Departure.
A detailed schedule will be provided to selected participants.
TRANSPORTATION, MEALS:
Participants are advised that meals and transportation will not be provided by Soldier On with the exception of lunch each day during the event. Participants will be required to arrange their own travel to and from the event location, travel and meals are not eligible for reimbursement for this event. Participants also acknowledge that there will be no alcohol consumption allowed during the conduct of this event.
Mental & Physical Requirements
Applicants must be able to tolerate 6 hours of light to moderate paced activities for 3 days in a row. Applicants must be fit to participate in horseback riding and stable management to include ground training and instruction, as well as horseback riding, grooming, and feeding. All participants must not weigh more than 210 lbs as the safety of the horses is a concern. Due to the busy activity schedule, applicants must have a limited requirement for rest throughout the day. Participants will be joined with other ill/injured members and civilians, and therefore should be able to function in a social environment. The stables and stable grounds are a smoke free environment and participants will not be allowed to smoke on the property.
